When Para’Kito‘s mozzie bands landed in our office, the timing was perfect. With two of our Mum’s Grapevine staffers about to head off to Thailand, we were perfectly positioned to give these natural mosquito protection devices a workout.

Made from a mix of essential oils including lavender, geranium, citronella and four others, the oils are infused in to a polymer pellet that can me worn on a wristband or clipped to your pram, backpack or tent. The oils ‘mask’ your scent from mosquitos, making you invisible to the little blighters for 15 days, and the pellet never touches your skin. So it can be used around babies, by pregnant women and allergy sufferers.

So, how did our little road test go? Our intrepid adverturers reported from the comfort of their Phuket sunloungers that not a single mosquito had blemished the skin of the Para’Kito wearer. It might have been the cocktails talking, but they gave it the thumbs up. Wristbands and Clips are $24.95 each and you can buy refill pellets from $15.95 for a two-pack.
