New global research confirmed what we knew about feeding. Mums face a multitude of emotions and responsibilities that come with welcoming a baby into the world and behind the scenes they’re coping with the total transformation of their own breasts, pressure to use them in a way that meets society’s expectations and a lack of representation. It’s no wonder two thirds of mums found breastfeeding harder than expected and a tremendous 93% felt their mental, physical and emotional struggles had gone unacknowledged. Isn’t it time we put a stop to that?

Launching on March 2 2021, Spill the Milk is a six-part digital content series hosted on Tommee Tippee’s Instagram channel. It will become home to open, honest conversations about feeding. Each episode features real women sharing their experiences of motherhood and spilling the milk on the gritty topics no one talks or warns you about – from difficulties latching and milky stains on t-shirts to feeling judged. 

Based on real insights unearthed in the campaign research, the series will demystify breastfeeding and open up conversations around the spectrum of feeding options. Whether that’s an account of lesser-known complications or tips for coping with dramatic bodily changes, it’s all about sharing real life experiences – the positive and the negative.
